About Utami Utar

di depan HUFS cropNur Utami Sari’at Kurniati (also known as Utami Utar) has been working for Pakuan University, Bogor, for more than two decades. She currently is responsible for some subjects in the Faculty of Humanity and Social Sciences, Faculty of Teachers Training and Education, and the Faculty of Engineering. She also taught at the graduate school and has an experience in teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA) for Darmasiswa program. She is a translator (English-Indonesian, vice versa) and currently a team member of translators for Koreana, a journal on culture and arts published by the Korea Foundation in Seoul, South Korea, which is now available in eleven languages and distributed to some 160 countries. She is a guest researcher in Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and as of September 2018, she lives in seoul and serves as an assistant professor in this university. She writes for some journals and presents her paper in various conferences, both at home and overseas. She is mostly interested in language and language use and is involved in some researches on this particular matters. She took part in the writing of Hitam Putih Bogor (Leutika Prio, 2013), Bogor dalam Komposisi (KPSL, 2014),  Bingkai Perempuan (Indie Book Corner, 2018); and published her monograph Berbagi Ruang (Frasa Media, 2017). Nur Utami Sari’at Kurniati (dikenal juga sebagai Utami Utar) mengajar di Universitas Pakuan, Bogor, selama lebih dari dua dekade. Saat ini, ia mengampu beberapa mata kuliah di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Budaya, FKIP, Fakultas Teknik; pernah mengajar juga di program pascasarjana; dan mengajar Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA) dalam program Darmasiswa. Ia juga seorang penerjemah (bahasa Inggris-bahasa Indonesia, dan sebaliknya) dan saat ini ia adalah salah satu anggota tim penerjemah tetap untuk Koreana, sebuah jurnal kebudayaan yang diterbitkan oleh Korea Foundation di Seoul, Korea Selatan. Jurnal ini terbit dalam sebelas bahasa dan didistribusikan di 160 negara. Selain itu, ia adalah peneliti tamu di Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, dan sejak bulan September 2018 tinggal di Seoul dan menjadi dosen tamu di universitas tersebut. Ia menulis di beberapa jurnal dan media, dan berpartisipasi dalam konferensi baik di Indonesia maupun di luar negeri. Bahasa dan pengajaran serta penggunaannya adalah minat terbesarnya dan ia terlibat dalam beberapa riset dalam bidang ini. Ia ikut ambil bagian dalam penulisan buku Hitam Putih Bogor (Leutika Prio, 2013), Bogor dalam Komposisi (KPSL, 2014), Bingkai Perempuan (Indie Book Corner, 2018); dan monograf terbarunya Berbagi Ruang (Frasa Media, 2017).
